A lot of people have asked me where the name Nikka came from. So I decided to share my story with you.
It has been a year that I have gone over and over, list after list of names for my company. After all the blood, sweat and tears and all the names, I didn’t even like one. {Perfectionist much?}. Until my life flipped upside down on November 15th 2011.
My father tragically passed away. He went on an annual golfing trip with his friends. Five days in his trip, he and his best friend decided to go to the beach and got caught in a rip current causing them both to drown. Rip current took the lives of two great men, my father, Nicola Carlucci & best friend, Joe Valentino.
{For those of you who do not know what a rip current is, please take the time to look it up, those five minutes of research can one day save your life}.
After I got the news, I was a mess but all that kept coming to my head was my little 10 year old cousin, Joey calling my dad, “Nica”. Since he was little he couldn’t call my dad Nick, he would say Nica. I had Nica in my head then it hit me.. Nica it is! With a little feminine touch = Nikka Weddings & Events.
My father has been the rock to my life, my support system, my go to person for any and everything. What better way to honor him then naming my firm after him.
So Daddy, my guardian Angel, please accept this award for worlds best dad and greatest hero and guide me through the greatest venture of my life.
